Charlie has suddenly turned into a little meat eater. He especially loves hot dogs and corn dogs and anything of that sort. Every once in a while he'll even eat a little chicken.
As far as words, he still mainly says:
"bah" (for "bye bye" and everything else),
"wow" (in a whisper, and usually while he's pointing at something, which is very cute),
and "mah mah mah" (which we think means "thank you for the yummy food" and not "mama").
Walking is no big deal these days, except when I want him to walk himself back to his room at daycare. Otherwise, he much prefers walking to crawling, and will do it automatically. Just not in any particular direction you may wish him to go!
Charlie is mesmerized by certain cartoons we put on the TV, but we try not to do that too often. Just when we really need him to settle down. He's still very into music, so the ones that have cute little tunes really get his attention the best.
He really needs a professional haircut (the trims we've been doing at home just don't cut it-- no pun intended!) But we are still scouting out good places to take him for that.
Our big event this week was going down to Fountain Square to see the Obama speech at the NAACP convention broadcast live on the big screen. I took some photos of the crowd that I hope to get loaded out there soon. I didn't do a great job at it, since I had Charlie all by myself, and I had to keep him moving in the stroller to keep him entertained, but it certainly was an interesting experience being out in the community like that. There was a really good feeling in the crowd, like a friendly neighborhood gathering (although folks there were from all over). Neat to see that many people excited about what's going on in this country and getting involved, in whatever their cause or concern might be.
