Random Charlie Notes

Charlie has been playing with one of John's old spare keyboards for a PC (not hooked up to anything). Today he asked me to go downstairs and get his "computer" (meaning the keyboard) and then he proceeded to press on some keys and tell me that we were going to look at his pictures. Then I had to wait, while he said "here they come." I wonder where he got this idea?

Yesterday Charlie had a very busy day. I had to run some errands, so John took him to the library, the playground, and Best Buy. After Charlie's afternoon nap, we met up with the Kramers at Sharon Woods for some play time at the playground there. Today after naptime we went to the swimming pool in our subdivision. We didn't stay long, because Charlie got splashed in the face and wanted to go home after that. He is always excited to go to the pool, but once we are there, it is a fight to get him in. He just doesn't like water anywhere near his head.

Charlie continues to amaze us with his use of language. Friday night he was talking about the fact that he wasn't wearing a coat, and we couldn't understand what he was talking about (it was 85 degrees out and we weren't thinking of outerwear). When he realized we didn't understand, he used another word-- jacket-- to get his point across. I was impressed that he made that leap.

Things continue to go well with the big boy bed. There have been no real fights over going to bed, and Charlie generally stays in the bed all night. We only know of a couple of times (at the start of naps) where he's gotten out to get books or a blanket and crawled back in. He got all excited this weekend when I changed his sheets to wash them and his pillow case looked different. He thought it was a brand new pillow.
