Charlie was a really good boy on our trip to KC. He did not sleep on the plane on the way out, but kept to a good sleep schedule once we were there. He even took a nearly 3 hour nap on Saturday afternoon, completely missing the birthday party! That allowed me to be able to take lots of photos and videos for Christine and Todd.
Over the weekend, Charlie started to say "hi" in addition to the "bye bye" that he has been saying for a few weeks now. He is also trying very hard to say "dog," but it often comes out as "gog" or something like that. It won't be long before he's calling for Lucy.
On the way out to KC, Charlie made me laugh by turning down part of a cheeseburger and fries at the airport McDonalds in exchange for some multigrain Club crackers and wholegrain cheese puffs. Silly boy!
While we were in KC Charlie also ate pasta for me for the first time. I'd given it to him before, but he never seemed to like it. This pasta had tomato sauce on it. He pulled the ground beef back out of his mouth, but the pasta went down. Tonight he followed that up by eating macaroni and cheese-- also the first time he had eaten that for me. Maybe because it was the kind we were eating, and not something made specifically for toddlers. He is really getting to be a big boy, with particular tastes.
