On Friday night we got to go to the Reds game, courtesy of my employer, and sit in our suite. That meant that Charlie got to go (since he could run around inside and we could still enjoy the game). It was quite a fun game to watch-- we even got to see a grand slam, and the Reds won. Afterwards there were fireworks. John had already taken Charlie home to bed by that point, but I got some decent pictures, using the tips that John had gotten at a photography workshop.
Last night Charlie and I went to a friend's birthday dinner while John had band practice. Charlie ate all sorts of food at the Indian restaurant, including some chicken (which he usually doesn't care for), and some saag (which he has enjoyed previously).
Today Charlie got his haircut. It's not as good as his first haircut, but he needed it badly. This afternoon we went to the pool after he had a late afternoon nap. John is off with the band playing a party for the annual Riverfest fireworks. I got to sit at home on the comfort of our couch and watch them in HD.
It seems we put the doorknob covers on our basement and garage doors just in time. Charlie is really trying to reach them now. He's also making a new face just this week. He sticks his lips out while making an "eww" face when he's upset-- not quite a pout, but still a little pitiful. Don't know where he got that one.
We're starting to plan for Charlie moving up to the toddler room at daycare, which means only one nap a day. We'll have to see how that goes!
